The Secret Life of Micah and Grace

Micah and Grace had been together for nearly three years. They sat in the front pew every Sunday, hands clasped during worship, heads bowed during prayer. To the congregation, they were a beautiful couple, an example of young Christian love. They served in the outreach ministry, delivered meals to the elderly, and tithed faithfully. Most people would’ve thought they were already married.

But behind closed doors, a different life was unfolding.

They lived together in a small apartment on the edge of town. No wedding ring. No covenant. Just convenience and chemistry. Sex before marriage had become normal, justified by love, hidden behind religious appearances. After all, they prayed together. Didn’t that count for something?

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators… nor adulterers… shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV

Micah, despite his Sunday suit and polite prayers, was hustling on the side. He sold pills, small bags of cocaine, and weed to college kids and construction workers. It wasn’t full-time, but the money filled in the gaps. Rent, groceries, car repairs. “God knows my heart,” he’d whisper in his mind when guilt knocked. “I’m doing what I have to do.”

But the Word says otherwise:

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die… the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”
Ezekiel 18:20 KJV

Grace, on the other hand, had secrets of her own. She burned sage in the bedroom when Micah was out, whispered prayers to “the universe” for her healing, and occasionally paid visits to a psychic for energy work. Her body was in pain, her womb ached with heaviness and though she believed in Jesus, she sought healing from spiritual sources forbidden by Scripture.

“There shall not be found among you… a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJV

The two of them had faced two unwanted pregnancies. Both times, they justified the abortions. “We’re not married yet,” “We’re not ready,” “It would be too shameful in church.” But guilt lingered like a shadow.

“These six things doth the Lord hate… hands that shed innocent blood.”
Proverbs 6:16-17 KJV

Despite all this, they believed they were saved. Once saved, always saved. Right?

After all, hadn’t they “accepted Jesus” in youth group years ago? Didn’t they sing worship songs and serve in the church?

But then, during a Wednesday night Bible study, the pastor read from Ezekiel 33:12-13 KJV

“The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression… if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity… for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.”

Grace’s heart stopped. Micah shifted uncomfortably. It was like the verse had pierced through the polished exterior of their faith and split open their secret life.

The pastor continued:

“God doesn’t delight in the death of the wicked. He calls them to turn from their ways and live. Why will ye die?”
Ezekiel 33:11 KJV

That night, they argued. Grace was terrified. “Are we really saved? Or are we just living a lie?”

Micah was defensive. “We’re not that bad. Everyone sins. It’s not like we’re murderers.”

But his own words betrayed him.

“If we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment…”
Hebrews 10:26-27 KJV

The Holy Spirit began to work on both of them.

That same week, Grace had a vivid dream. She stood outside a locked gate while a voice declared:

“Depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Matthew 7:23 KJV

She woke up shaking, in tears. The fear of God had gripped her heart. True fear, not terror, but the holy trembling that leads to repentance.

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
Philippians 2:12 KJV

The next Sunday, they didn’t sit in the front pew.

They stayed home. On their knees. Crying. Weeping. They pulled out their Bibles and read Ezekiel 33:10-16 over and over.

“When the wicked turneth away from his wickedness… and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.”
Ezekiel 33:19 KJV

That night, Micah made a hard choice. He confessed to the pastor. He cut off the drug dealing and deleted every client from his phone. Grace threw away her crystals, her sage, her energy guides. She prayed for healing from God and not from darkness.

They moved into separate spaces, sacrificing comfort for holiness. They began counseling and accountability with a mature couple from church. It wasn’t easy. But it was right.

“If thy right hand offend thee, cut it off… for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
Matthew 5:30 KJV

Months passed. They were baptized again, not for show, but for conviction. They vowed to live pure, to honour marriage, to raise children in truth if God gave them the chance again.

They were not perfect. But they were no longer pretending.

Their story became a testimony. One that shook lukewarm Christians to the core.

Because lukewarm won’t make it.

“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
Revelation 3:16 KJV

And “once saved, always saved” was exposed for the lie that it is, when used as a license to sin.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Galatians 6:7 KJV

God, in His mercy, gave Micah and Grace a chance to repent.

But not everyone gets that chance.

So the question remains…

Why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways.
Ezekiel 33:11 KJV

And so Micah and Grace chose repentance. They walked away from compromise, false religion, and the sin they once justified in the name of love, hustle, and comfort. They broke the shackles of fornication, witchcraft, and deceit, not because they were strong, but because God in His mercy opened their eyes before the day of judgment.

But let me tell you something.

Not everyone gets the chance to repent.

Some will hear the truth, and walk away with a stiff neck and a hardened heart. Some will hear this very lesson and think it doesn’t apply to them, because they’ve prayed a little prayer or grew up in church. They’ll say, “We’re under grace.” They’ll say, “God understands.”

But let me decipher this Word as it is written, not as you wish it were.

“The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression… if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity… he shall die for it.”
Ezekiel 33:12-13 KJV

Let me break it down modern day language without sugarcoating. You think because you did good once upon a time, that God owes you mercy while you live like hell today? Think again.

You call yourself a Christian while you’re shacked up with your boyfriend, sleeping in the same bed, having sex out of wedlock, and posting cute couple pics like God approves?

No, you’re living in fornication, and the Bible says:

“Fornicators shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV

And don’t twist the Word. Don’t say “we’ve been together for years, we’re practically married.”

You are not married until you come under covenant before God.

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
Hebrews 13:4 KJV

Let me speak to the women in the church who think summer hookups, casual sex, and sleeping around at parties is just part of growing up, but still wear crosses and quote scripture in your Instagram and facebook bio. Wake up! You are playing with fire.

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?… Be not deceived!”
1 Corinthians 6:9 KJV

You say, “But God loves me.”
Yes, He does and that’s why He’s warning you now. Stop making exuses.

“Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”
Ezekiel 33:11 KJV

This isnt hate, it’s holiness. This is not judgment, it’s mercy calling you out of death. Wake up.

Let’s talk about the men living double lives. You serve on the church team, shake hands with the pastor, but on the side, you’re selling drugs, gambling, drinking, or addicted to porn. You think because you tithe and show up to church that you’re fine?

Let me read you what Jesus said:

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father…”
Matthew 7:21 KJV

“Many will say to me… Have we not prophesied in thy name? …and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Matthew 7:22-23 KJV

You called Him Lord, but you didn’t live like He was your Lord.

You did works in His name, but your life was still full of willful sin.

If you’re living in unrepentant sin, you’re not saved. Period.

Not because the cross isn’t powerful, but because you trampled it underfoot while excusing your sin.

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.”
Hebrews 10:26 KJV

Don’t tell me about your “faith” when your lifestyle denies Him.

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient…”
Titus 1:16 KJV

Let’s deal with the witchcraft too.

Some of you women are burning sage, reading horoscopes, seeking mediums, and doing “energy healing,” yet say you believe in Jesus.

You’re opening demonic doors while wearing a cross necklace.

“There shall not be found among you… a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard… for all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord.”
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJV

You cannot serve both God and devils. You can’t mix light with darkness and expect to be blessed. Repent!

Jesus Himself said:

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot… So then because thou art lukewarm… I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
Revelation 3:15-16 KJV

Lukewarm Christianity will not save you.

God doesn’t change His standard because it’s 2025. His Word is eternal.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Hebrews 13:8 KJV
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Matthew 24:35 KJV

This isn’t about shame because I was there too. This is about salvation. God is not looking to condemn you; He’s offering you life.

“I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked… turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways.”
Ezekiel 33:11 KJV

Repent while you still can. Turn to Jesus with your whole heart, not just your happy-go-lucky Sunday church face.

“If the wicked will turn from all his sins… and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”
Ezekiel 18:21 KJV

But if you keep walking in sin, refusing to turn, your blood is on your own hands.

Choose this day whom you will serve.

You cannot cling to Christ with one hand and your sin with the other. He’s faithful and righteous. He’s not gonna bend on his own word because you think you’re an exception.

Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6:24 KJV

You cannot say, “I love Jesus,” and still sleep around, deal drugs, burn sage, live in fornication, and walk in rebellion. You will either love the one and hate the other or cleave to the one and despise the other. But you cannot serve both.

Mammon wants your soul. He wants you trapped in lust, pride, addiction, fear, fake religion, and compromise.

But Jesus came to set us free

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36 KJV

Don’t let a temporary pleasure damn you to eternal torment. Hell is for eternity, eternal separation from God.

Don’t let the lie of “grace without repentance” send you to hell.

Don’t let the god mammon rob you of eternal life.
